Member of Grace Brethren Church in Washington Frances Anna Prowitt, 93, of Amwell Township, died Monday, November 18, 2002, in Washington Hospital. She was born May 9, 1909, in Washington, a daughter of Henry C. and Barbara Sheetz Miller. Mrs. Prowitt was a housewife who had once done housekeeping for the Wallace family in Washington. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and crocheting, and never missed a Pirates game on the radio. Mrs. Prowitt was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Washington. On March 19, 1926, whe married Andrew Milton Prowitt, who died December 30, 1988. Surviving are a son, Nathan R. Prowitt of Washington; three daugtters, Loretta M. Kurfis of Spring Hill, Fla., Frances Wise of Washington and Helen M. Brown of Brandon, Fla.; two brothers, Bernard P. and Robert Miller, both of Washington; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, Thomas and Louis Prowitt; a daughter, Bertha Louise, who died in infancy; two stepsons, Harry and William Prowitt; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; five brothers, Henry, Richard, Lawrence, Charles and Gerald Miller; and two sisters, Clara Ruschell and Elvira Thompson. PROWITT - Friends of Frances Anna Prowitt of Amwell Township, who died Monday, November 18, 2002, will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 21, with Pastor Shimer Darr officiating. Interment will follow in Amity Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
