Lloyd E. McCormick Retired Turn Supervisor of Jessop Steel Company Lloyd E. "Sonny" McCormick, 66, of Washingon died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at Presbyterian University Hospital after a brief illness. He was born July 5, 1938 in South Franklin Township, a son of the late Edgar and Kathryn (Manon) McCormick. Mr. McCormick was a 1956 graduate of Trinity Area High School. He attended Juniata and Penn Commercial Colleges. He worked for many years as a shift supervisor in the electric furnace department at Jessop Steel Company, retiring in Februrary, 1994 with 35 years of service. Mr. McCormick enjoyed golf, camping, sports, playing cards, and hunting. He played for the Faith United Presbyterian Church dart ball league. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play soccer. He was a founding member of Trinity Youth Wrestling. He was a member of St. Hillary Roman Catholic Church. He will be sadly missed by his family. Surviving are his wife the former Theresa L. Fedor, whom he married in September, 1958; also survivng are three sons Jeffrey L., of Washington, Dr. Joseph R., of North Hills, John S., of Washington and one daughter Jeannine L. May of Greenville, PA; one sister Doris Jean Mundell of Bergen, NY; five grandchildren Heather, Patrick, Matthew, Ellen McCormick and Sarah May; several nieces and nephews. Freinds will be received from 7 to 9 Wednesday and 1-4 , 7 to 9 pm Thursday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 13, 2004, at 10:00 am in St. Hilliary Church . Internment will follow in Forest Lawn, McMurry. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association.
