Rose Viola Florian, 77, of Magnum, OK, died Saturday, August 7, 2004, at
her residence. She was born on July 8, 1927, in Magnum, OK, a daughter
of Lewis W. and Viola Gorham Sweet. Mrs. Florian worked at Fike Studios
as a negative-retouching artist. She was also an artist in the field of
porcelain and ceramics, a member of the American Quilters Society and
was involved in the Christian Mother’s Organization. Mrs. Florian was a
very devoted member to her church, Sacred Heart, and was a Eucharist
minister.
On December 28, 1947, she married Joseph F. Florian, Jr., who died on
November 10, 1990. Surviving are 5 sons, Joseph Patrick Florian of
Pensacola, FL; Dr. Thomas Florian of Lumberton, NC; Daniel and Jerry
Florian, both of Washington, PA and Timothy Florian, Sr. of Altus, OK; 3
daughters, Terese Bowles of Orlando, FL; Mary Catherine DiDonne of
Somerset, PA and Roseanne Bunnell of Washington, PA; a sister, Vera
Lindner of Magnum, OK; 35 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Deceased are 4 brothers, Henry, Arthur, Joe and Lewis Sweet; and 3
sisters, Erma Dressler, Nola Horriage and Lona Jenkins.
Friends of Rose Viola Florian of Magnum, OK, who died Saturday, August
7, 2004, will be received from 7-9 p.m. Friday, in William G. Neal
Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Hilary Catholic Church at
10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2004, with Father Thomas D. O’Neil as
celebrant. Interment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church Cemetery.
