Veterans Affairs employee for 37 years Sharon Jane Taylor, 61, of Washington, died at 4:33 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2002, in Donnell House, Washington. She had been ill since August. She was born January 20, 1941, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Ralph W. and Roberta Frances Cutright Gwilliam. Mrs. Taylor was employed by the Department of Veteran Affairs in Pittsburgh as a veterans service representative for 37 years. She retired August 30, 2002, because of ill health. She was a recipient of the PVA Award. Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Christian Church of Washington and enjoyed fishing, puzzles, reading and working for the Veterans Administration. A 1958 graduate of Washington High School, she attended Robert Morris College. On May 21, 1968, she married William W. Taylor Sr., who died July 3, 1988. Surviving are two sons, William Wayne Taylor Jr. and Graham Charles Taylor, both of Washington; a brother, Ralph Marshall Gwilliam of Washington; two stepgrandchildren, Anthony and Marissa; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. TAYLOR - Friends of Sharon Jane Taylor of Washington, who died Tuesday, December 10, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington. Additional visitation will be held Friday, December 13, from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, in First Christian Church, Washington, with the Rev. Paul P. Leone officiating. Interment will be in Washington Cemetery.
