Usher at Immaculate Conception Church
Steve Zelenka, 83, of Washington, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, in Washington Hospital.
He was born May 11, 1919, in Washington County, a son of Paul and Theresa Kolinek Zelenka.
Mr. Zelenka retired as a tow motor operator at Tri State Engineering after more than 30 years of employment.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, where he served as an usher for many years.
He was a veteran of the Army and Air Force and a member of American Legion Post 175 and Alpine Club.
Surviving are two brothers, Edward R. Zelenka Sr. and Anthony J. Zelenka Sr., both of Washington; two sisters, Julie Kray of Canonsburg and Mary Scott of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are five brothers, Paul Sr., Martin, Andrew Sr., Charles Sr. and John Zelenka; and a sister, Sophia Schroeder.
ZELENKA - Friends of Steve Zelenka of Washington, who died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 2, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with the Rev. William Feeney as celebrant. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 175.
