Fairmont Supply Co. truck driver worked at theaters
Thomas C. McCartney, 63, of Washington, died Monday, December 30, 2002, in Donnell House, Washington, following a four-month illness.
He was born March 1, 1939, in Washington, a son of Hester Calvert McCartney of Washington and the late Donald Clark McCartney.
Mr. McCartney was Protestant and a graduate of Trinity High School.
He worked as a truck driver for 37 years for Fairmont Supply Co. and had been a projectionist at the Basle Theater and various drive-in theaters in Washington.
On January 28, 1961, he married Linda L. Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Randy McCartney of Washington; three daughters, Jodi DeTemple, Jamie Schaller and Amy Kress, all of Washington; a brother, Kenneth McCartney of Washington; a sister, Donna Piecknick of Washington; two grandchildren, Jon Thomas DeTemple and Britni Kress; and several nieces and nephews.
McCARTNEY - Friends of Thomas C. McCartney of Washington, who died Monday, December 30, 2002, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., the hour of services, Thursday, January 2, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Bill Volpe officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Donnell House, Leet Street, Washington.
