James C. Wilson

Cross Creek dairy farmer raised black Angus James C. Wilson, 87, of Mount Hope Ridge Road, Claysville, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2002, in his home following a four-month illness. He was born August 23, 1915, in Cross Creek Township, a son of Lee M. and Ruth Smith Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a lifelong member of Grove United Presbyterian Church in West Middletown, where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a dairy farmer in Cross Creek Township and later raised black Angus cattle on Mount Hope Ridge Road. Mr. Wilson was a 1932 graduate of Hickory High School, attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and was a member of Gideon International. He was a member of Pennsylvania Farmers Association and West Middletown Cemetery board. On May 25, 1938, he married Sarah Elizabeth Craft, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Charles Wilson of McDonald and Samuel Wilson of Imperial; a daughter, Margaret Radosevich of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Mary Griffith; and two sisters, Anne Alford and Ruth Margaret Wilson. WILSON - Friends of James C. Wilson of Mount Hope Ridge Road, Claysville, who died Monday, December 30, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, and from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of services, Friday, January 3, in Grove United Presbyterian Church, West Middletown, with the Rev. Rowley Boone officiating. Interment will follow in West Middletown Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Gideon International or Grove United Presbyterian Church.
