Tony Mancinia, 90, of Washington, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in Washington County Health Center. He had been ill since February 15, 2007.
He was born January 14, 1917, in Washington, a son of Salvatore and Rose Paletta Mancinia.
Mr. Mancinia was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Defense Service Medal, and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead.
He worked at Hazel-Atlas #1 for 35 years and was a member of Friendship Community Church. Mr. Mancinia enjoyed gardening, golf, dart ball and bowling.
On November 30, 1946, her married Norma Huggins, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Edward S. (Marie) Uniejewski of Washington; two brothers, Samuel and Frank Mancinia; two grandchildren, Denise (Shawn) Kostyak and Edward (Darla) Uniejewski, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Joshua Kostyak.
Deceased are four brothers, John Munchie, John Mancinia, Santa Munchie, and Dominick Mancinia; and four sisters, Theresa Lindley, Mary Reese, Corella Richmond, and Catherine Pierson.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007, with Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
