Robert William Hayes

Friendship Community Church trustee Robert William Hayes, 72, of Washington, died at 5:03 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2002, in the Washington Hospital emergency room following a lengthy illness. He was born June 3, 1930, in Washington, a son of Charles Alfred and Florence Anna Lang Hayes. Mr. Hayes attended Washington High School and was a member of Friendship Community Church, Washington, where he served as trustee. For 33 years, he was employed by Cooper Industries. He previously worked at Hazel Atlas Glass, Russell Brothers and Duncan Miller Glass. Mr. Hayes was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22. He enjoyed working at his church and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are a son, William D. Hayes of Washington; two daughters, Janet Capo of Washington and Kara MacMillan of Lebanon; and four grandchildren, Patsy A. and Jillian Capo, Tiffany Follette and David Zachary MacMillan. A sister, Charlene Hayes, is deceased. HAYES - Friends of Robert William Hayes of Washington, who died Tuesday, December 17, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 20, with the Rev. Floyd Marasco officiating. Entombment will be in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum.
