Stanley P. Cole Jr., 60, of Washington, died Sunday, December 8, 2002, in the emergency room of Washington Hospital.
He was born February 27, 1942, in Washington, a son of Mary Goroncy Cole of Ojai, Calif., and the late Stanley Paul Cole Sr.
Mr. Cole had been employed as an electrician at Allegheny Ludlum ( formerly Washington Steel ) for 38 years. He first worked at the Houston plant, then the Washington plant, and was currently employed at the Houston facility.
He enjoyed his Honda motorcycle, camping, family picnics, his Siberian Huskies Samson and Kita.
Mr. Cole was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22 and Buffalo Grange 1523. He owned Mobile Disc Jockey, where he was known as DJ Stan, and then it became the Sounds of Gold.
Mr. Cole was a ham radio operator and earned the designation of extra class. His call sign was AD3T.
He was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School and served with the National Guard.
On April 11, 1964, he married Susan D. Morris, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Stanley Paul Cole III ( wife Amy ) of Washington and Jared M. Cole ( wife Valerie ) of Prosperity; a brother, James Lee Cole of Woodbridge, Va.; a sister, Victoria Cole of Santa Barbara, Calif.; three grandchildren, Michael L., Matthew A. and Kaitlyn S. Cole; four stepgrandchildren, Brandon J., Calvin K., Michael R. and Mandy L. Klein; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Terry Lee Cole, is deceased.
COLE - Friends of Stanley P. Cole Jr. of Washington, who died Sunday, December 8, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 12, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating, sharing with the Rev. John Bauer. Interment in North Buffalo Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington County Humane Society.
