Richard (Shag) James Shields

Founding member of Trinity Bible Fellowship Richard James "Shag" Shields, 64, of Washington, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born December 4, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a son of James and Jean Bernier Shields. Mr. Shields was a founding member of Trinity Bible Fellowship and served as an elder. He was a machinist 1st class at McGraw-Edison for 30 years. Mr. Shields owned Photographs by Richard and was a wedding photographer for several years. On January 21, 1961, he married Ruth Peters, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Brian (Joan) Shields of Murrysville; a daughter, Becky (Bret) Fennell of Columbus, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Chad and Ryan Fennell and Cory, Elena and Joshua Shields. Deceased is a son, Darren Shields. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, with the Rev. Michael Roach officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to youth groups at Murrysville Alliance Church, P.O. Box 222, Murrysville, PA 15668, or Trinity Bible Fellowship, 1350 Park Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
