Korean War vet worked in W&J food service
James William Horner, 66, of Washington, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2003, in Washington Hospital.
He was born August 17, 1936, a son of James William "Jamo" and Viola Blanche Anderson Horner.
Mr. Horner was a member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church and was employed at Washington & Jefferson College in food service.
He was a graduate of Washington High School and served in the U.S. Army in Korea with the 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War.
Mr. Horner was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
On June 29, 1991, he married Theresa Ann Mirto, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Brad and Larry Horner, both of Washington; two stepsons, Duane Davidson of Grove City, Ohio, and Nicholas Davidson of Washington; a daughter, Diana Lawson of Washington; a stepdaughter, Carrie Jones of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Walter Horner of Muncie, Ind., and Daniel Horner of Washington; three sisters, Eileen "Dusty" Barker of Ravenna, Ohio, Mary Stevens of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Virginia Reese of Washington; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Charles David and Donald Lee Horner; and two sisters, Ellen Marie and Patricia Jean Horner.
HORNER - Friends of James William Horner of Washington, who died Sunday, January 26, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, with the Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
