David Wayne Moyer

Houston mechanic served in U.S. Army David Wayne Moyer, 53, of Houston, died Friday, January 17, 2003, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born August 15, 1949, in Ellwood City, a son of Virginia Haswell Moyer of McMurray and the late Howard R. Moyer Sr. Mr. Moyer was Lutheran. He was a high school graduate and a mechanic. For 10 years and 11 months, he served in the U.S. Army, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, American Far Eastern Medal and expert qualification on the M-16 rifle. On April 27, 1973, he married Kum Cha Moon, who survives. In addition to his mother and wife, surviving are two daughters, Amy Moyer of Houston and Tawnya Moyer of Washington; a brother, Howard R. Moyer Jr. of McMurray; a sister, Nancy L. Hess of McMurray; and two grandchildren, Tiara Lynn Cody and Anthony Steven Torres Jr. MOYER - Friends of David Wayne Moyer of Houston, who died Friday, January 17, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, with Bob Davison officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
