Charles Leroy Gradert

October 18, 1934 — January 11, 2003

Charles L. Gradert,68 of Washington died Saturday, January 11, 2003 in the Washinton County Health Center following a lengthy illness. He was born on Oct. 18, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Walter LeRoy and Dorathy Hundley Gradert. Mr Gradert was a Trinity High School graduate and held an accounting degree from Washington & Jefferson College. He served in the US Marines. Mr. Gradert had worked for General Cryogenics in Washington for over 16 years as Controller. He also had acted as a Stand-in in several local film productions. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Washington, Masonic Lodge # 164, and was a former member of the Washington JayCees. On November 11, 1961 he married Shirley Ann King who survives. Also surviving are a son, Steven L. Gradert of West Alexander, a daughter, Susan L. Zentkovich of Uniontown, a brother, James C. Gradert of Macendonia, Ohio and four grandchildren, Andrew S. Gradert, Rebecca Gradert, George Zentkovich and Jessica Zentkovich. Deceased is a half-brother, Richard Allen Edenfield. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 amd 7-9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA where services will be held on Tuesday, January 14 at 11:00 AM, interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to: First Baptist church, College at Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301.
