From Observer-Reporter Wednesday, January 8, 2003 Woman dies from injuries received in crash A Washington woman died after the vehicle she was riding in was involved in a two-car accident Sunday, North Franklin Township police said. Marci Lynn George, 33, of 402 Mineola Street, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday of head and chest injuries at UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, the Allegheny County Coroner's office said. The vehicle, driven by her fiance, Paul D. Galbraith Jr., was driving south on Route 18 (Park Avenue) when the car slid on the snow-covered road, hit a speed limit sign and went up an embankment before fishtailing into the oncoming lane. Kenneth C. Wojnerowski, the driver of the other vehicle, was traveling north when he saw the other vehicle out-of-control. He stopped, but was still hit with the passenger side of Galbraith's car. George had to be extricated by Washington firefighters. "No charges will be filed," North Franklin Township police Chief Mark Kavakich said, after meeting Tuesday with District Attorney John C. Pettit. "It was just a tragic accident caused by poor road conditions." George, who is survived by her daughter, Olivia Marlo George, was a flight attendant for US Airways. She is the second person in Washington County to die in a traffic accident this year.
