Gertrude Mable Patterson

Gertrude Mable Patterson, 91, of Washington, died Friday, March 21, 2008, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born May 14, 1916, in Washington, a daughter of Lafayette and Cora Kelly Brooks. Mrs. Patterson attended Avella schools and was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Washington. She was a nanny for various families over the years, and enjoyed arts and crafts. In October of 1934, she married Robert T. Patterson, who died in January of 1978. Surviving are two daughters, Elaine (Ronald D.) Holloway, of Pittsburgh, and Karen (Charles) Collins, of Eagle River, Alaska; a sister Betty Webb, of Arnold; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Lloyd Thomas and a daughter, Linda Rae Patterson. Friends will be received noon to 2:30 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, with Rev. Arthur E. Doctor, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in West Middletown Cemetery.
