V. Jean Moore, 87, of Hickory, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, in Donnell House, Washington, following a brief illness.
She was born September 5, 1920, in Rea, a daughter of Homer and Velma Roney Simpson.
Mrs. Moore was a member Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church, the
Missionary Group, Buffalo Homemakers, and Cross Creek Grange #7201. She enjoyed baking and gardening.
At one time, Mrs. Moore was a clerk at A&P Bakery.
On September 17, 1949, she married Wilbur A. Moore, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Ronald (Michelle) Moore, of Hickory; four daughters, Carol (Jack) Hensel, of Washington, Joyce Moore, of Hickory, Linda Moore, of Bentleyville, and Barbara (Mike) Salvini, of Washington; and 16 grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Lyle, Ross, and Alvin Simpson.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2008, with Pastor Judy Mayer officiating. Burial will follow in Upper Buffalo Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Donnell House, c/o Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
