Dolores Lewis Engott Picknick, 78, of Washington, died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2004, in her home, following a lengthy illness. She was born November 10, 1925, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann Reese Lewis. Mrs. Picknick was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, and Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers. As a teenager, she taught Sunday school at First Methodist Church of Houston. She was formerly employed at W.S. George Pottery Co. of Canonsburg. During World War II, she was employed at a munitions plant in Meadow Lands. She had been activities director at Presbyterian Home, Washington, and Kade Nursing Home, Washington, from which she retired. She wrote poetry and enjoyed crossword puzzles, spending time with her family and traveling. She was twice married. On January 25, 1945, she married Joseph Franklin Engott, who died January 20, 1983. On October 27, 1984, she married Mack Picknick, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Franklin Thomas Engott of Washington; two daughters, Sheryl Jo Plunkett of Coraopolis and Leslie Lynn Lockoski of Canonsburg; and seven grandchildren, Nathan and Brian Engott, Aaron, Laura and Matthew Plunkett and Jessica and Jason Lockoski.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 18, in Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Nicholas Spirko as celebrant. Interment in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers will have a rosary service in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
