Rev. Ronald Arthur Sprowls, 66, of Belmont, Ohio, died Thursday, March 20, 2008. He had been ill since 1986.
He was born September 20, 1941, in East Finley Township, a son of the late Clifford Lee and Betty Lee Lohr Sprowls.
Mr. Sprowls was a self-employed farmer and had worked as a recapper and supervisor at Discount Tire Center in Claysville for 21 years. Currently, he was a co-pastor and youth group leader at Roadside Christian Outreach in Belmont, Ohio.
He enjoyed singing in church, playing the guitar, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and riding in his son’s semi.
On February 20, 1963, he married Shirley Ann Blazic, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Ronald A. (Brenda) Sprowls, Jr., of Morristown, Oho; a daughter, Ann M. Sprowls of Belmont, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jessica (Jim) Sprowls, Josie Sprowls, Roni Sue Sprowls, and Jordan Sprowls; several adopted grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, Julieann Grace Perkins; several nieces and nephews; and a great-great nephew.
Deceased are two brothers, Carl, who died in infancy, and James Sprowls.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Roadside Chapel, 1869 Pleasant Grove Road, Claysville, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 25th, with Rev. Mary Sprowls officiating. Burial will follow in West Finley Cemetery. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, is in charge of arrangements.
