Virginia Orndoff

Virginia Ruth “Ginny” Larkin Orndoff, 77, Of Washington, died Monday, December 10, 2007, in her Manifold residence. She had been ill since September. She was born December 26, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of John M. and Bertha Robertson Larkin. Mrs. Orndoff was a 1947 graduate of Trinity High School, where she was a member of the band. She worked as an assembler at RCA Corporation for ten years, and also worked at J.C. Penney’s and Tygart Valley Glass. Mrs. Orndoff was a lifelong member of Washington Alliance Church and South Strabane VFD #2 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed her grandchildren and watching them play on local sports teams, including TWIST Softball. She loved spending time with her dog, Minnie. On August 26, 1950, she married William H. Orndoff, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert W. (Barbara) Orndoff and David L. Orndoff, both of Washington; one daughter, Judith A. Boone of Washington; a brother, Robert Larkin of Washington; a sister, Gail Hart of Houston; and five grandchildren, Carrie (William) Nabors, Michelle Orndoff, Bobbi Orndoff, Joshua Orndoff, and Olivia Orndoff. Deceased are four brothers, Harold, David, Delmer and John Larkin; and three sisters, Leila Moore, Vera Bennett and Grace Shoup. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, with Rev. C.D. Crosscut officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Alliance Church, 246 Sanitarium Road, Washington PA 15301.
