Shirley Louise Noviski, 60, of Washington, died Saturday, November 24, 2007, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born August 10, 1947, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Fred D. Shepherd, Sr. and Violet Tutay Shepherd. Mrs. Noviski was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and attended California University in conjunction with Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse in the Oncology Department of The Washington Hospital. Mrs. Noviski was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, flowers and the outdoors. In 1968, she married Edward Lewis Noviski, Sr., who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Edward L. (Tracy) Noviski, Jr., of McMurray and Michael J. Noviski of Washington; three brothers, Fred Shepherd, Jr., of Seneca, South Carolina, James Shepherd of Lakeland, Florida, and Kenneth Shepherd of Lawrence; one sister, Nancy Quaresima of Carlisle; and two grandchildren, Madison and Brynn Noviski. Deceased are two brothers, Donald and Thomas Shepherd. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007, with Rev. Thomas O'Neil officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
