Louretta Carolyn Amos, 83, of Washington, died Monday, November 26, 2007, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington. She had been ill since March.
She was born June 20, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of Zeno and Jane Mahalia Reedy.
Mrs. Amos attended Trinity High School and worked as a certified nursing assistant for local nursing homes.
She loved art and making various crafts, shopping and spending holidays with her family.
For nearly 50 years, she lived in Syracuse, N.Y.
On November 7, 1997, she married George William Amos, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John (Kelly) Bergman and Larry (Carol) Bergman, both of Syracuse; a stepson, Jim Amos of Washington; a daughter, Alfa-June (William) Doupe of Syracuse; four stepdaughters, Millie Amos and Sandra Amos, both of Washington, Linda Merritt of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., and Donna Dropko of Washington; a brother, John Thompson of Syracuse; a sister, Ellen Fretz of Washington; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, James McCombs; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the hour of services, Thursday, November 29, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Michael Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in West Middletown Cemetery.
