Harold Rice “ Howdy “ Richmond, 92, of Washington, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at 1:25 am in his home following a two month illness. He was born in Washington on November 18, 1911, a son of Wilbur Wylie and Henrietta Closser Richmond.
Mr. Richmond attended Clark School and Washington High School. He has been a member of the Fairhill Manor Christian Church since the age of eight. He enjoyed all sports including the Pirates and Steelers. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the Mould Shop at Brockway Glass # 7.
On May 12, 1934, he married Alice Marie Mossburg who survives. He is the last living member of his family. Surviving are several nieces and nephews
Preceding him in death are two sons, Dr. Lee John Richmond who died August 17, 1990 and James Harold Richmond who died at birth; five brothers, Homer, Wilbur, Everett, Gordon, and Lee Richmond; six sisters, Palma Kline, Olive Shaffer, Marie Lacock, Lillian Jestat, and two infants who died at birth.
Friends of Harold Rice “ Howdy “ Richmond, 92, of Washington, who died Saturday, will be received from 7 to 9 pm Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at 1:00pm, Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Interment will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
