Christie S. Cordy

Active member of Central Assembly of God Church. Christy S. Cordy, 54, of Washington, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2005, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. She was born December 11, 1950, in Washington, a daughter of John I. Cordy Sr. of Washington and the late Lois Polan Cordy. She attended Central Assembly of God Church in Houston, where she was an active choir member. She worked as secretary-treasurer of Star Dynamics. A 1968 Trinity High School graduate, she attended Taylor University in Upland, Ind. She enjoyed cats, reading, computers and decorating. Surviving are three brothers, David Cordy of Reno, Nev.; Jeffry R. Cordy of Warrenton, Va., and John I. Cordy Jr. of Rayne, La.; and four nephews and five nieces. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, with the Rev. Stephen Getchell officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to Washington County Humane Society.
