Mildred Mary Fowler

Mildred Mary Fowler, 85, of Washington, died at noon Thursday, November 17, 2004, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, having been ill since April. She was born October 2, 1919, in Webster Hollow, a daughter of John and Judith Balas Manko. She formerly resided in Pompano Beach, Fla., for 15 years. Mrs. Fowler was a member of First Lutheran Church, Washington. She attended Webster schools. She was a waitress at Red Bull Inn and Double D Ranch and a Washington Hospital volunteer. On May 6, 1950, in New York City, she married Leonard Fowler, who died in 1976. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Sue and husband Dane McCormick of Prosperity; and two sisters, Lillian Noel of West Newton and Christina North of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Deceased are two brothers, William and John Manko; and a sister, Sue Manko, who died in childhood. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 3 p.m., the hour of services, Friday, November 19, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with the Rev. Kenneth N. Schott officiating. Contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association.
