William W. Cavanaugh

William W. "Bolt" Cavanaugh, 83, of Washington, died Saturday, February 5, 2005, in the Donnell House, following a one-month illness. He was born in Washington, December 5, 1921, a John and Catherine A. Burns Cavanaugh. Mr. Cavanaugh was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and had served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in Iceland and England. He was retired from Washington Steel and had worked as a stacker on the CTL Line. He was a member of The Arms Club, Alpine Club, 50+ Life Member of the Loyal Order of Moose # 22, V.F.W. # 927 Hawkins Post Home, F.O.E. # 687, Independent Club, Polish Club, and Pulaski Club. On October 4, 1946, he married Ella Louise Courtwright, who died on December 21, 2001. Surviving are three sons, Michael F. Cavanaugh of Carnegie, William "Pat" Cavanaugh of Washington, Kevin J. "KJ" Cavanaugh and his wife Barb, of Washington; a daughter, Susan M. Lucero and her husband Ken of Washington; two brothers, John Patrick Cavanaugh of Gibsonia, James Cavanaugh of Washington; a sister, Patricia Troy of Beaver Falls; three grandchildren, Tiffany and Melissa Lucero, and Nicholas Cavanaugh; and one great-grandchild, Ayden Iorio. Preceding him in death are a brother, Charles Cavanaugh and sisters, Catherine Murphy as well as Margaret Cavanaugh who died as an infant. Friends of William W. "Bolt" Cavanaugh, 83, of Washington, who died Saturday, February 5, 2005, will be received on Monday from 7 to 9 pm, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at 2:00 pm, Rev. Thomas O�Neill officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
