Korean War vet worked for Brockway Glass, GG&C Bus
Robert Eugene McGlumphy, 72, of Washington, died at noon Saturday, March 12, 2005, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.
He was born November 14, 1932, in Washington, a son of Gaylord E. and Irene Marshman McGlumphy.
He was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School and was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
Mr. McGlumphy had been employed by Brockway Glass as an inspector. He was last employed by GG&C Bus Co.
He was a member of Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.
On December 28, 1956, he married Mary Jane Grove, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Barry Eugene McGlumphy of Peters Township; a daughter, Vickie Evans of Mexico; a sister, Lois Foringer of Washington; five grandchildren, Reilly and Cole McGlumphy and Justus, Lawrence and Adal Evans; and a great-grandchild.
Deceased is a brother, Ralph McGlumphy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, with the Rev. Greg Golden officiating. Interment will be held in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
