Loving father and grandfather.
Thomas Francis Fodor, 83, of Washington, died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He was born February 5, 1922, in Avella, a son of Louis and Rosa Berzig Fodor.
Mr. Fodor was an Avella High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was a retired steelworker, having worked for LTV Steel and Aliquippa Steel.
Mr. Fodor was Roman Catholic.
He enjoyed operating heavy equipment, motorcycles, mechanical work on cars and gardening.
On October 6, 1951, he married June Campbell, who died December 10, 2003.
Surviving are a son, Thomas (Tim) Fodor Jr. of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; a daughter, Linda Kalich of Washington; a sister, Ann Zick of Burgettstown; and three grandchildren, Michael Fodor (Susan) Kalich, Timothy Andrew Fodor and Lori Almindo.
Deceased is a brother, William Fodor.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, with the Rev. Edward Czemerda officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Cemetery, Avella.
