Calvin C. Rogers,77, of Prosperity died Wed. in the Washington Hospital following a six-month illness. He was born on July 24, 1924 in Nuttersfort, West Virginia a son of Clyde Victor and Marie Viola Alexander Rogers.Mr. Rogers had been a self employed contractor and had also farmed.He was a member of the Church of Christ in Washington. Mr. Rogers served with the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He enjoyed playing music at square dances in the area.
On August 5, 1948 he married Doris A. Clemens who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth M., Tim, and Jeffrey Rogers; three daughters, Sharron Caldwell, Nancy Ingram, and Patti Rogers;four brothers Dennis, William, David, and Don Rogers; Six grandchildren, Janice Campbell, Cathy Caldwell, Aaron Rogers, Jason Rogers, Gary Malarky, and Tom Ingram; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at our Allison Avenue location on Thursday from 7-9 pm, Friday from 2-4, 7-9 pm. Additional visitation will be held from 10-11am Saturday, the time of services, in the Church of Christ, 700 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
