Robert F. Gibson, 83, of Washington, died at 5:10 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2007, in his residence, following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 1, 1923, in Monessen, a son of Francis Edgar and Thelma Kaupp Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was a graduate of Centerville High School. He was owner and operator of Gibson Photo Center for more than 50 years, retiring in 1994.
Mr. Gibson was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion, a life member of BPOE 776, where he was a trustee and had held various officer positions, and a life member of the American Trapshooting Association. He was an avid trap shooter and enjoyed dogs.
On November 27, 1947, he married Jane Cavanaugh, who died September 14, 1998. On May 17, 1999, he married N. Jean Schwingel, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert F. (Beth) Gibson, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; two step-sons, John H. (Tricia) Pavkovich of Sun City, Arizona, and Jeffrey S. (Lora) Pavkovich of Avella; three grandchildren, Robert, Katie and Erin Gibson; and three step-children, Alexandria, Samantha and Desiray Pavkovich.
Deceased is a brother, William Gibson.
Friends will be received 11a.m. till 2 p.m., the time of a blessing service, Friday, March 9, 2007, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Father John Bauer officiating. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
