Franklin Alexander O'Bryan, 74, of Washington, died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007, in Canonsburg General Hospital following a 13-month illness.
He was born June 5, 1932, in McGovern, a son of Frank Brennan and Pearl Jester O'Bryan.
He was Methodist.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict in Germany with Company K, 26th Infantry Regiment.
He had been a security guard at UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
He enjoyed going to the racetrack, playing poker and his grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Frank Dennis O'Bryan; two daughters, Kathleen Rose and husband Fred Woods and Karen Faye O'Bryan, all of Washington; a brother, Barney O'Bryan of Prosperity; four sisters, Rose Smith of Claysville, Cora O'Bryan of Washington, Nellie Bartolotto of Claysville and Jean Hoover of Prosperity; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, James "Stubby" O'Bryan; a brother, Eugene O'Bryan; a granddaughter, Catlin O'Bryan; and four sisters, Shirley, Dorothy and Ethel O'Bryan and Dora Sparks.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or viewing. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Arrangements are by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
