Mary M. Briggs

Mary M. Briggs, of Washington, PA died Friday, May 2, 2003 in Washington Hospital. She was born in Brock, Pa the daughter of Lindsay L. and Mrtie M. Statler Main. Mrs. Briggs attended Claysville High School. She had worked as a Nursing Assistant for more than 20 years at Washington Hospital. She was a member of the Friendship Community Church in Washington and enjoyed Gardening, Quilting, Sewing, and her grandchildren. On April 19, 1958 she married Ray Briggs, Jr. who died on August 21. 1996. Surviving are two sons, James W. Briggs of Springfield, Ill. And Keith D. Briggs of Claysville; two daughters, Denise Schneider of Washington and Deborah D. Kirkland of Montgomery, Al; five brothers, Lindsay Main of Montgomery, Al, Charles, George, James, and Kenneth Main, all of Washington; four sisters, Martha Kelley of Waynesburg, Alice Zappi of Taylorstown, Wilda Durbin of Washington, and Wilma Miller of Mt. Morris; five grandchildren, Jammie Bruno, Jessica Mankey, Lindsay Mankey, Jenna Robinson, James W. Briggs, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Briggs is preceded in death by three brothers, Billie, Edgar, and Earl Main. Friends of Mary M. Briggs, of Washington, who died on Friday, May 2, 2003 will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301 where services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2003 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
