Washington homemaker enjoyed crocheting
Mary Plants, 94, of Washington, died Monday, May 26, 2003, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington.
She was born June 29, 1908, in Washington, a daughter of James I. and Mary Wolfe Seaman.
Mrs. Plants was Presbyterian.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and reading.
On December 24, 1924, she married Elgie Myers (Jack) Plants, who died March 19, 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean E. Sprowls of Washington; a sister, Velma (Loretta) Beck of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Keith Sprowls, Lynn Ann Sprowls Tarris, Karen Dalkin and Pamela Plants; six great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Elgie M. Plants Jr.; seven brothers, Cecil, Willard, James, Wilbur, Harry, Sherman and Raymond Seaman; and three sisters, Blanche Cook, Elsie Beck and Freda Kuhns.
PLANTS - Friends of Mary Plants of Washington, who died Monday, May 26, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, with the Rev. David Clement officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
