Florence Lander, 82, of Pittsburgh, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, in Washington County Health Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 11, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of John C. and Anna Blasko Lenco.
Mrs. Lander graduated from Trinity High School in 1944. She worked as a clerk at Joseph Horne Co. and as a department secretary at Duquesne University and University of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Lander was Catholic by faith and attended the Church of the Resurrection in Brookline.
She enjoyed various senior citizen activities.
Her husband, Stephen W. Lander, died in February 1977.
Surviving are a son, Stephen W. (Linda) Lander, Jr. of Fairfax Station, Virginia; three brothers, John Lenco of Washington, Ray (Barbara) Lenco of Canonsburg, and Thomas (Cindy) Lenco of Virginia; four sisters, Madge Ault of Virginia, Irene Knodle of Washington, Christine Freeman of Florida and Donna M. Lenco of Maryland; three grandchildren, Nathan, Timothy and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Ann, and a brother, William.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5th in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, with Father Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Inurnment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., is in charge of arrangements.
