Mary Lou Salsberry, 79, of Washington, died Sunday, June 5, 2005, after a brief illness. She was born February 25, 1926, in Waynesburg, a daughter of Vernon Merle and Louise Wood Blaker. She had been a resident of North Waynesburg until graduating from Waynesburg High School in 1944. On November 2, 1945, in Winchester, Va., she married George E. Salsberry. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage, prior to his death June 26, 1999. During her time as a Washington resident, she was an active member of Ladies of the Elks, where she served as president in 1985 and 1986. She was a member of Arms Club, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Homemakers Group, Washington Socialites, Washington County Cooperative Extension Board and was a retired Sears employee. She enjoyed playing cards, dartball, making trips to casinos, and being with family and friends. Surviving are two sons, Joe E. Salsberry of Summit, N.J., and Tim E. Salsberry of Washington; a granddaughter, Kristin Beth Salsberry of N.J.; two sisters, Sue Watkins of Lakeland, Fla., and Patricia Tipton of Lower Burrell; a brother, Merle Blaker of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Charles William Blaker; an infant brother, Lloyd Blaker; and a sister, Beverly Ann Blaker. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Friends will be received from 10 until 11: 30 a.m., the time of a memorial service, Saturday, June 11, in North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Avella, with the Rev. Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will be private and held in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation of Washington. Arrangements are by William G.
