Trinity and California University grad
Douglas Alan Carpenter, 46, of Washington, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in Washington Hospital, of complications from a 1986 assault that resulted in head trauma.
He was born November 27, 1961, in Washington, a son of Dorothy Graft Carpenter of Washington and David Edmond Carpenter Sr.
Mr. Carpenter graduated from Trinity High School and California University of Pennsylvania, where he was continuously on the dean's list.
He worked summers at Washington Cemetery, Washington Park and Aloia's Service Station.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, Daniel L. (Laurie) Carpenter of Erie and David Carpenter Jr. of Washington; two maternal aunts, Donna of Roscoe and Claudia (Tom) of Allenport; two nieces, Natasha and Tiffany, both of Washington; and several cousins.
Deceased are his maternal and paternal grandparents and a special uncle, James Salvino.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, in Immaculate Conception Church, with Father William Feeney as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
