Washington Mould retiree enjoyed hunting, playing guitar.
Joseph Albert Wyland, 90, of Washington, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, in his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born August 16, 1917, a son of George and Violet Couts Wyland.
On July 30, 1938, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie McBride, who survives.
For 30 years, he was employed with Washington Mould as a mould maker.
He was a member of Friendship Community Church.
Mr. Wyland, affectionately known as "Pappy Joe," enjoyed a rich, full life.
His pastimes included hunting, fishing, woodworking, metal detecting, yard work, playing guitar, singing folk songs and spending time with his wife and family.
Mr. Wyland always was eager to lend a hand to those in need, and asked only for friendship in return. He truly was one in a million, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter, JoAnn Westfall; a brother, Clint (Shirley) Wyland; two sisters, Grace Datillo and Jean Ranegar; grandchildren Robert (Kimberly) Westfall and Terri (Jerry) Anderson; great-grandchildren Stacy and Robert Jr. Westfall; and great-great-grandchildren Gage and Gavin Skariot.
Deceased are bothers Amber and George Wyland and Tom and Ed Cage; and sister Florence Sonson.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Interment will follow at Washington Cemetery. Additional information and guest bo
