Joseph G. King, 71, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Washington, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. He was born November 15, 1933, in Washington, a son of Charles L. and Dorothy Lee King. Mr. King was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School. He was a secretary/treasurer of Baum Boulevard Volvo, where he worked as a business manager and accountant. Previously, he worked for Bob Smith Ford and Scott Motor Co. Mr. King was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and Mayors Council for the Physically Challenged. On July 24, 1959, he married Joyce Louise Phillips, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Craig A. King of Mt. Holly, N.J., and Joseph R. King of Harrisville; a stepdaughter, Robin E. Danko of Avella; a brother, Clyde King of Tiffin, Ohio; a sister, Carrie Mae (Rasel) Johnson of Gibsonia; seven grandchildren, Craig A. King II, Brandon M. King, Nathaniel John King, Jessie Evans, Amber Kirschner, Shane King and Lauren King; and a great-grandchild, Jasmine King. Deceased are a stepson, Edward A. Danko; two brothers, Jack L. King and Francis King; and a sister, Shirley King.
