Edward John Kania

January 29, 1936 — April 21, 2003

Retired from Brockway Glass Plant 7 Edward John Kania Sr., 67, of Washington, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, in his home following a brief illness. He was born January 29, 1936, in Washington, a son of John and Mary Yarnet Kania. Mr. Kania attended Trinity High School and retired after 31 years at Brockway Glass Plant 7, where he was last employed as a labor foreman. He was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, Polish Club and Anawanna Hunting and Fishing Club. Mr. Kania enjoyed fishing and hunting. On November 8, 1955, he married Mary Ann Dicks, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Edward John Jr. and David Mark Kania, both of Washington; a daughter, Marsha Lynn Molinaro of Washington; a brother, Carl Kania of Grove City; a sister, Rose Doak of Washington; and six grandchildren, Jason, Alicia, Kayla and Jenna Kania and Jennifer and Tony Molinaro. Deceased are two sisters, Ann Ohs and Jennie Jubas; and a brother, Joseph Kania. KANIA - Friends of Edward John Kania Sr. of Washington, who died Monday, April 21, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, with the Rev. William Dicks officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
