Received Friend of 4-H Award Marjorie J. (Joye) Carson, 85, of Claysville, formerly of Washington, died Monday, November 17, 2003, in Washington Hospital. She was born May 31, 1918, in Washington, a daughter of James M. and Edna Stewart McAllister. Mrs. Carson was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church and Order of Eastern Star. She was a secretary for the Agricultural Extension Office and received the Friend of 4-H Award. She worked as a secretary for Washington & Jefferson College. Mrs. Carson was a graduate of Trinity High School and Washington Business College. On November 10, 1945, she married William Henry Carson, who died February 6, 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Ann C. Gillett of Greensburg; two brothers, James Stewart McAllister of Phoenix, Ariz., and Robert Grant McAllister of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ann and Jeannine Marie Gillett; one niece; three nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. CARSON - Friends of Marjorie J. (Joye) Carson of Claysville, formerly of Washington, who died Monday, November 17, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington and from 10 to 11 AM, Thursday, November 20, the time of services, in the North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 711 Rural Valley Road, Washington, Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will be in Claysville Cemetery.
