Washington Hospital retiree was member of I.C. Church
Mary Ann Spina, 95, formerly of Washington, died Monday, December 24, 2007, in Gurley, Ala.
She was born August 4, 1912, in Canonsburg, the third child of Andrew and Helen Furchak.
In 1933, she married John Spina, who is deceased. They had four children.
Mrs. Spina worked at Washington Hospital for 20 years, until her retirement in 1981.
She was an Immaculate Conception Church member. In Alabama, she attended services at Lady of the Valley/Bicentennial Chapel on Redstone Arsenal.
Surviving are her brother, Joseph Furchak of Palisades Park, N.J.; her sons, William Spin and wife Elaine of Gurley, Ala., Joseph Spin and wife Kathy of Denver, Ind., and Paul Spin; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Darlene Lucas.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 29, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Family Care Hospice, 3304 Westmill Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805.
