Longtime member of First Christian Church
Margaret Wells (Peg) Patterson, 96, of Washington, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Donnell House, Washington, after a brief illness.
She was born February 11, 1907, in Holbrook, a daughter of George M. and Minnie Boone Wells.
Mrs. Patterson was a member of First Christian Church for more than 50 years and its married couples class for more than 50 years.
She was a member of Lagonda Homemakers, AARP and Daughters of the American Revolution of Waynesburg.
Mrs. Patterson was a 1927 graduate of Rogersville High School.
On November 23, 1927, she married Jacob M. Patterson, who died April 14, 1979.
Surviving are a son, James W. Patterson of Washington; a daughter, Beverly Moninger of Bridgeville; two half sisters, Freda Husk of Carmichaels and Aldine Baldwin of Elyria, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Susan Tokar, James W. Patterson Jr., Bonnie Clark, Beck Moriarty, Rodney Patterson, David, Brian and Mark Moninger and Kathleen Garove; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Carl L. Patterson; a brother, Vernon Wells; and a stepsister, Bessie Rice
PATTERSON - Friends of Margaret Wells (Peg) Patterson of Washington, who died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, with the Rev. Paul P. Leone officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
