Lenora Ruth Matullo

Lenora Ruth Matullo, 75, of Washington, died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005, in her home, following an illness of 18 months. She was born December 30, 1929, in Norwood, Ohio, a daughter of Dillon K. and Ruth Shephler McMillan. Mrs. Matullo graduated from Trinity High School and was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington. She was employed as a machine operator at Bobbie Brooks for 14 years, was a seamstress at J.C. Penney for 18 years and had been employed by Chartiers Cleaners. Mrs. Matullo helped various clubs and organizations with her seamstress skills, including various cheerleader groups and privately altered wedding gowns. On August 23, 1955, she married Louis Michael Matullo, who died November 4, 1980. Surviving are two daughters, Catherine Matullo (How) Robertson and Lois Ann (Karl) Pettit; two sisters, Jo Ann Gilles of Youngstown, Ohio, and Alice Jane Holmes of Falmouth, Ky.; and four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Robertson and Ashley and Nicholas Pettit. A son, Michael Dillon Matullo, died at birth. Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, June 6, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with the Rev. Nicholas Spirko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to John F. Kennedy Grade School, 111 Spruce Street, Washington; or Family Hospice, Palliative Care, 250 Mt. Lebanon Boulevard, Suite 203, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
