Opal Mcconnell Dorsey

Member of Claysville U.P. Church. Opal McConnell Dorsey, 89, of Washington, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lingering illness. She was born November 1, 1917, in Wolfdale, a daughter of Leslie and Iva Morrison McConnell. Mrs. Dorsey attended Claysville schools and was a member of Claysville United Presbyterian Church and Claysville American Legion Auxiliary. For 24 years, she resided in San Francisco, Calif., and worked as a cashier in a Woolworth store. On April 10, 1935, she married Wade Nahr Dorsey, who died November 18, 2001. Surviving are a brother, Thomas McConnell of Washington; and a sister, Ruth Maxwell of Oklahoma. Deceased are four brothers, Leslie, Raymond, William and Ralph McConnell; and two sisters, Verla Post and Connie Pettit. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Claysville Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Claysville United Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. Arrangements are by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
