Nettie Mae Ackroyd

First Christian Church member. Nettie Mae Ackroyd, 95, of Washington, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township. The oldest of 15 children, she was born June 24, 1911, in Jacobsburg, Ohio, a daughter of Calvin and Bertha Mae Allen Dunfee. Mrs. Ackroyd was a homemaker and very family-oriented. She was a member of First Christian Church. On November 21, 1931, she married George B. Ackroyd, who died in 1971. Surviving are five daughters, Norma Antill of Washington, Gayel Crile of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Lola Lancaster of Washington, Lorelei (Herbert) Rissell of Canonsburg and Shirley (David) Eisert of Washington; and five sisters, Evelyn Potter, Goldie Fields, Grace Foflygen, Ruth Foflygen and Mary Andrews. Deceased are a son, George Ackroyd; three sisters, Pearl Stoner, Delsie Fiddler and Virginia Hallam; and six brothers, Harold, Robert, Richard, Paul, Donald and William Dunfee. Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 20, with the Rev. David Felty officiating. Burial will follow in Chartiers Hill Cemetery, Canonsburg.
