Ila Lee Forney, 94, of Washington, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, in Washington Hospital.
She was born May 3, 1908, in Washington, a daughter of Frank L. and Carrie J. Ayres Cummins.
Mrs. Forney lived 60 years in the Avella area and five years in Centre County.
She was a member of Hickory Presbyterian Church and Hickory Farm Women's Club.
Mrs. Forney attended the former Miller School and Hickory High School, where she played on the girls basketball team.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking big meals.
Her hobbies included reading, traveling and talking with family and friends.
On August 16, 1928, she married Daniel Curlis Forney, who died May 4, 1973.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel Forney of Marianna and James A. Forney of Washington; six grandchildren, Gail Bookhardt, Gary and Neil Forney, Sandra Bruce, Randy Forney and Connie Trudeau; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a niece; and four nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Glenn Cummins; two sisters, Ethel Hutchison and Jeanette Hamilton; an infant brother, John; and a granddaughter, Cynthia Forney, who died at birth.

Thursday, April 17, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, April 19, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Douglas R. Reinard officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
