Ruth M. McQuay, 75, of Washington, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington.
She was born July 31, 1927, in Washington, a daughter of Everett and Irene Pattison Main.
Mrs. McQuay was a floral designer at Moore's Florist for 18 years.
She was Methodist and had attended McClay School.
Mrs. McQuay sang on radio and at Wheeling Jamboree.
She was married twice. On February 23, 1946, she married Jack M. Moore, who died November 30, 1981. On July 11, 1986, she married Joseph Allen McQuay, who died in 1996.
Surviving are two sons, Jack M. Moore Jr. of Prosperity and James A. Moore of Washington; a daughter, Lois Martin of Washington; a brother, David Main of Florida; three sisters, Connie Rogers and Roxie Hampson, both of Washington, and Violet Pees of VanKirk Station; a grandson, Gene Martin; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Darlene Wright; and five brothers, Edward, William, Eugene, Howard Benton and Richard Main.
McQUAY - Friends of Ruth M. McQuay of Washington, who died Sunday, May 4, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
