Donald Franklin Sickles, 72, of Prosperity, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness, which began in 1975.
He was born February 28, 1936, in Prosperity, a son of Mofford and Margaret Hayes Sickles.
Mr. Sickles enjoyed watching westerns and all sports on television.
On October 3, 1974, he married Linda Frances Greene, who survives.
Also surviving are his first wife, Freda Jones, of Freeport, IL; two sons, Donald F. Sickles, Jr., of Freeport, IL, and Brian (Beth) Sickles, of Washington; three daughters, Sandy (Karl) Kehn, of Washington, Tammy (Lee) Dixon, of Prosperity, and Donna Sickles, of Waynesburg; three sisters, Ruth Sickles and Peggy Wigner, both of Washington, and Gerry Garrett, of Claysville; eleven grandchildren, Josh, Mandy, Brandon, Dustin, Jeremy, Jason, Kayla, Cody, Kolby, Taylor and Zack; and three great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Lee Franklin Sickles, a brother, Bobby Sickles; three sisters, Jo Ann Jones, Sandy Renforth, and Helen Martin; two infant brothers and an infant sister.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2008. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
