Betty Irene Malie

Betty Irene Malie, 82, of Amwell Township, died Saturday, January 19, 2008, in the Washington County Health Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Washington County on January 21, 1925, a daughter of John and Laura Hunt Hayes. For many years, she worked at Krency’s Bakery. On April 3, 1944, she married Vincenzo James Malie, who died on December 26, 1987. Mrs. Malie is survived by two daughters, Susan ( Ralph ) Schmidt of Finleyville, and Donna Lee ( Dennis ) Locy, with whom she had made her home, of Lone Pine; a son Bob Hayes of Tecumseh, Michigan; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sons, James Allen and Butch Malie. At the request of the deceased, no public visitation or services will be held.
