Betty J. Hutter, 78, of Washington, died Saturday January 19, 2008, in the Washington Hospital following a lingering illness.
She was born in Washington on October 11, 1929, a daughter of Robert and Adeline Fox Bird.
Mrs. Hutter attended Washington Schools. On August 25, 1946, she married Charles Hutter who survives.
She owned and operated Betty’s Bar for thirty-four years, prior to retiring in 2005 when she sold her bar to her nephew, Chuck McMasters who renamed it Chuckie J’s.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Betty “ Little Face “ Dyson of Washington, with whom she made her home; grandchildren, Bobby Lynn ( Vince ) Alderson of Canonsburg, and John ( Andrea ) Dyson of Washington; Great-grandchildren, Addie Christine and Andrew Vincent Alderson; and former son-in-law Dan Dyson of Ocala, Florida.
Deceased are a brother Robert S. Bird and two sisters, Lucretia McMasters, and Mildred McConnell.
Friends of Betty J. Hutter, 78, of Washington, who died Saturday January 19, 2008, will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family is requesting memorial donations be made to: Washington City Mission Homeless Shelter, Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301.
